Today, November 20, voters across Maharashtra are participating in the election for all 288 seats in the state legislative assembly, a crucial event that will shape the future of both the ruling and opposition parties. Polling began at 7 AM, with Bollywood celebs Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Farhan Akhtar, John Abraham and Urmila Matondar making their appearances outside the polling stations for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024.

Akshay Kumar
Dressed in a black shirt and beige trousers, Akshay looked effortlessly chic as he stepped out of his luxury vehicle with security detail. He confidently walked to the booth, greeting the paparazzi with a cheerful “Good morning.”
As the first Bollywood voter of the day, he praised the organization at the polling station, stating, “The best thing is that the arrangements are very good. The provisions for senior citizens are excellent, and cleanliness is well-maintained. It’s essential for everyone to come out and vote because that is the most important thing.”
The Khiladi actor was also seen interacting with a senior citizen when he complained about the toilets. The senior citizen was complaining about one of the toilets made by Akshay that has turned rust and hasn’t been taken care of by the BMC. The actor very calmly handled the situation a nd promised to look after this matter.
Farhan Akhtar
Farhan Akhtar was spotted outside the polling station in Bandra, Mumbai. He also spoke to the media after casting his vote. He hoped for films to be shown on more screens in Mumbai. Farhan Akhtar said, “I urge all people to come out and vote. It’s very important. It is our responsibility as a citizen of this city, state and country to be involved in its narrative…I hear that people complain about Mumbai and how it should be but when asked if they voted, they will say, ‘No, I didn’t.’ Then don’t complain. This is the one chance that you have to contribute as a citizen. So it is your responsibility.”
When asked about the one change he wants in the film industry, Farhan added, “I feel the important thing right now for me is that the number of our screens should be increased. We are very very under screened. As an industry my appeal would be that we work towards, with the support of the govt, to create more screens where people can consume content.”
John Abraham
John Abraham was seen leaving after he cast his vote. The actor was spotted in a simple ensemble black t-shirt with trousers and a cap. He greeted fans and clicked pictures with some as well.
Suniel Shetty
Suniel Shetty was spotted in Pali Hill Bandra to cast his vote in Maharashtra Elections 2024. He was wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans and black goggles. Shetty posed for the paps showing his inked finger.
Urmila Matondkar
Urmila was seen after casting her vote for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The actress was spotted in a simple white coloured shirt and pants with goggles. She struck a pose showing her inked finger for the paps. Her latest post read as: “Please vote For yourself, your children and your society n #maharashtra जय जय महाराष्ट्र माझा”
About Maharashtra Assembly Elections
The BJP is contesting 149 seats, Shiv Sena 81, and the NCP 59. The Congress has fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) 95, and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) 86. The BSP is contesting 237 seats, while other smaller parties are also in the fray. The state has approximately 9.7 crore registered voters.
